Brenda Beamon-Isabell pictureBrenda Beamon-Isabell has been writing for the past decade. Her poem, entitled Imagine, was published in the 1997 National Library of Poetry - Days Gone By.

Her love for literature grew over the years and after a heart wrenching battle in court over the physical abuse of her disabled son, she began working on her first fiction novel, Monday's Child.

Brenda states, "I wanted to write about abused handicapped children because I feel many times these children's capabilities are so limited, their cries may go unheard. After months of research I discovered there were numerous books about child abuse, but not many that specifically addressed abuse of handicapped children." She further states, "I write fiction because it gives me a temporary escape from the real world. It provides a break from reality for me and my readers."

Brenda currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with her family. Brenda is currently at work on her second novel.
